I just wanted to say thank you for getting our order to us so promptly and I also wanted to convey how delighted we were with your recommendation of the Chateau Ballan-Larquette 2008. It complimented the Beef Stroganoff perfectly just as you had suggested. Delicious 60th birthday dinner and would do it all over again! Luckily there are a some bottles left and we shall have them with duck confit on Sunday. A rather gastronomic weekend all in all!

Heard about this wine on the grape vine so thought I'd try some for myself. I can understand why people are talking about it, it's a good claret and I hope you have plenty in stock as this is going to go like hot cakes.

Wine Style: Dry Red

Chateau Ballan Larquette is an award winning estate owned by the Chaigne family who have been wine makers for six generations. Ballan Larquette lies in the Entre Deux Mers (between Saint Emilion and Sauternes) in a tiny village named Saint Laurent du Bois. This is a lovely Claret with dark firm blackcurrant flavours and good earthy undertones as well as complex notes of black cherry, crushed black pepper, mint and blueberry.

Rounded, well balanced and with supple, ripe tannins Ballan Larquette is a versatile wine which will pair well with rack of lamb, duck, Italian meat based pasta dishes, juicy rump steak and casseroles.
