CHATEAU DES TROIS TOURS 2012

9.99

Seductive and complex Claret with an intense bouquet.  Flavours of ripe blackberry, roasted coffee beans, raspberry and vanilla with a hint of oak coupled with a very fine long liquorice finish. Silky smooth and good depth.  Ages well.  We recommend you decant 2 hours before serving.

50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon & 15% Cabernet Franc
.  12.5% abv.  75cl

Nick, you never fail to deliver - what a super claret! We always appreciate your tasting notes - spot on!

Description:
Wine Style:  Dry Red

Owned by the Lumeau family Chateau Des Trois Tours is an ancient fortified estate and lies at Caumont near Sauveterre de Guyenne.  With its three remaining towers, defensive walls and moat it's actually one of the oldest local properties.  In the 16th and 17th centuries it was the property of the Albret family. Jeanne d’Albret, Queen of Navarre, stayed there several times with her son, the future King Henry IV of France.

Chateau Des Trois Tours is ideal with beef, venison, game pies, rabbit, duck, hare, beef wellington and feathered game such as pheasant, guinea fowl and partridge. It's also great with strong hard cheeses.
