Vintage champagne is a weakness of mine and I have enjoyed the best. This champagne takes a lot of beating for its quality vise a vie the amount you pay. This is a super little number and should be enjoyed.

Why do people have to buy branded products when vintage champagnes like this is available at such a ridiculously low price. Money and sense come to mind!

For vintage champagne this offers fantastic value for money. I have paid over 3 times its price for worse – I suppose that’s the price you pay for a name on a label?

Description & Press Reviews:
Wine Style:  Champagne

When a Champagne maker has an exceptional harvest a Millesime is declared and this 1998 Champagne Vintage Brut Millesimes is simply divine. It oozes quality and is characterized by the taste of spring blossoms, cherries and a hint of honeycomb. The tiny bubbles are a fragrant froth and it's pure nectar on the palate.

This Champagne is made by Philippe Secondé who is a descendant of the famous Champagne House of Edmond Barnaut in Bouzy, founded in 1874.   Bouzy is famous for Pinot Noir of enormous personality, ripeness and richness and  is one of the top Champagne  vineyards - you'll find the world's most famous Champagnes grow their grapes in Bouzy – Taittinger, Veuve Cliquot, Moet and Chandon. Unlike these Champagnes you are not paying for the name.  Philippe's Champagnes - Champagne Secondé-Collard - are totally exclusive to Bordeaux-Undiscovered, you won't be able to find them any where else in the UK.

Think Champers, and you think the big name brands that racing drivers spray over each other.  But one of the key benefits of visiting the Champagne region is to get out  and about and see the smaller producers whose bubbly is often as good - and considerably cheaper.

There are dozens, not least Edmond BARNAUT in the splendidly named village of BOUZY, east of Epernay.
