realy enjoyed this wine, got better as I got through the bottle, long finish without the kick you sometimes get from the likes of Chardony. low acohole so realy can consentrate on the fruit/nose. great value and will buy again.

There is nothing about this wine you can dislike. It’s a delicate wine that is not overpowering, drinks well with or without food and for its price offers very good value.

A wine I used to buy elsewhere but having found it on this site it’s substantially cheaper and it’s a great wine to have in the fridge because you can drink it anytime of the day or night as it is so light and refreshing without being too alcoholic.

What a lovely find this wine is. Soft, smooth and refreshing is how I would describe this wine. A very pleasant drink that you can drink time and time again without getting fed up with it as you can do with other wines and at a very reasonable price.

A lovely soft easy drinking white with subtle fruity flavours.

Description:
Wine Style:  Dry White

The renown of Château Sainte Marie
goes back several centuries, as the vineyard belonged to the 12th century Benedictine Abbaye de la Sauve Majeure (one of the most ancient abbeys in France, located just a mile from the Château).  Much of the Château was devastated by fire and only the giant 400 year old sequoias remain.

The Dupuch Family have been making wine at Château Sainte Marie
since 1956 with fierce commitment, talent and a great attachment to the originality of the terroir.  The south facing vineyards stretch over 2 sunny hilltops which are amongst the highest points in the Gironde and resemble 2 small islands standing proud in a sea of green. Old vines with low yields, including a 100 year-old parcel of Semillon, guarantee a top quality production.

Sainte Marie is
a beautiful pale golden colour and is full of fragrance. With great aromas of lemon, lime and grapefruit with a hint of elderflower it is perfectly balanced on the palate offering a a well structured and long lasting finish.

This wine makes an excellent aperitif served nicely chilled as it is less dry than most but is superb with cheeses like roquefort, asparagus and avocado. Summer salads of rocket, balsamic vinegar, laced with nuts spring to mind as it will pair well with these.  However one of the best foods to match Sainte Marie with are oysters and shellfish.  Try it with Asian seafood or paella!
