Description & Press Reviews:
This is a Champagne made by Philippe Seconde of the renowned Champagne House Barnaut. The Grande Reserve is a Champagne for all occasions and can be enjoyed any time of day or night. It makes a wonderful aperitif and accompanies Grilled Fish and Poultry Dishes in light sauces very well. Golden in colour with fine, lively bubbles it has the smell of intense fruits. When in the mouth it attacks the taste buds with a good balance of those fruit and leaves a lovely lingering, full bodied, dry (Brut) after taste.
The Wine Advocate: The Grande Reserve: apricot, honey, roasted hazel nuts and smoke, shows exceptional length and persistence ending in a smooth finale. It is a style of Champagne which has body and very pleasant complexity.
The Daily Mail: Think Champers, and you think the big name brands that racing drivers spray over each other. But one of the key benefits of visiting the Champagne region is to get out and about and see the smaller producers whose bubbly is often as good - and considerably cheaper.
There are dozens, not least Edmond BARNAUT in the splendidly named village of BOUZY, east of Epernay.
The Grand Reserve Brut is first class, and your're meeting a real wine-maker, not a uniformed guide.
