Chateau Pessan 2006 is a delicious wine that exhibits red berry fruits, licorice and burnt wood flavours with super silky tannins. It has excellent definition/clarity of flavour and I can thoroughly recommend this wine. It makes a mockery of wines at much higher prices. I am sure it would work very well with any red meat or game (it was cracking with my ribeye steak!!).

Great wine at a good price for its quality. I will be back again soon as this case will not last that long!

The Chateau Pessan I bought from you recently, although is slightly too heavy for my wife, it is perfect for me as I find it a well rounded, well balanced wine and for a heavier wine it doesn

The quality of this wine for its price is very rarely found. By drinking your Chateau Pessan on a regular basis spoils me when I buy other wines at a similar prices or much higher. It

I found your Chateau Pessan a delight to drink. It has all the hallmarks of a very expensive wine. It is smooth without any nasty edges, a lovely deep crimson colour, good fruit and fuller in the body. Your description of hints of smoke, oak, pepper, spice, coffee and eucalyptus are absolutely correct.

For its price this I found your Chateau Pessan to be of superb value. Its quality belies its price. An extremely nice bottle of wine that could easily command a much higher price tag.

Wine Style:  Full Bodied Red

Château Pessan hails from Graves – which is often considered to be the birthplace of claret.  In the 16th century Henri IV ordered a watch tower to be built at Chateau Pessan due to its proximity to his rival's properties and today the watch tower stands guard over the vineyards. .
The château is owned by the Comtes de Bournazel who also own the Second Growth Sauternes Chateau de Malle and have 400 years of wine making experience behind them.

Pessan is a deliciously velvety wine, deep and dense, perfectly balanced with hints of black fruits, spice, coffee, smoke, eucalyptus, pepper and oak. The wine is a superb buy and is starting to attract attention on the world market.

Château Pessan will accs stuffed oysters, crystallized fruits and cheese.

Enjoyed immensely with a pan-fried lamb sandwich (one of my fail-safe quick dishes). The juicy meat brings out a mouth-watering red berry dimension to this claret. The high acidity in the wine cuts through the fat of the lamb which in turn reveals new complexity in the wine; lovely. Just go easy on the sweet mint sauce (as tasty as it is it will clash with the wine). Scribblings Rating - 92/100 [4 out of 5]
