This is one of the most pleasant Roses I have tasted at its price. Its light, fruity, refreshing and crisp.

I loved the colour of this Rose when I saw it on your site. Having now tasted it, it is a very pleasant wine indeed not sickly and sweet but it has plenty of fruit and refreshingly different.

I noted this wine in the Daily Telegraph as one of Jonathan Ray

Description & Press Reviews:
Wine Style:  Dry Rose

Chateau Roques de Mauriac Rosé is made by Sylvie and Vincent Levieux and their motto is “a good wine never lies”. Vincent Levieux is a 3rd generation winemaker following in the footsteps of his mother and grandfather. He took over the responsibility for Château Roques Mauriac in 2003 and is a young winemaker with a drive and passion that has resulted in award winning wines – the Rosé being one of them, winning a Silver Medal at the 2006 Concours Général Agricole de Paris.

Roques du Mauriac rests
at the heart of the Entre Deux Mers, in the quaint village of Mauriac,
watched over by its 13th century Romanesque church.  To make this lovely Rosé the red grapes are collected very early to avoid too high temperatures at harvest and is pressed and vinified like a white wine (in the manner of the Rosés of Provence).  Château Roques Mauriac uses this to technique to obtain a wine with the colour of rose petals and the aromatic smoothness near to a white wine. This wine is mouth wateringly, crisp, rich salmon pink rose petal colour with the flavours of redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate and cranberry.

This Rosé is a wine for the epicurean – and you can indulge your taste buds as well as your guests! You can pair Roques de Mauriac with an array of dishes including shellfish
, halibut, plaice and sole as well as creamy pastas, chicken, pork, quiche, ham, rabbit, cheeses and salads.  It is great with Chinese cuisine and tapas!

Jonathan Ray, The Telegraph - Jonathan Ray's Top Ten Favourite Wines

This blend of 60 percent merlot and 40 percent cabernet franc from Entre Deux Mers in Bordeaux is a beguiling rosy pink with elusive hints of wild strawberries on the nose.

Light and understanding rather then full bodied and characterful, it is crisp, dry and very refreshing when serves chilled, either as an aperitif or with simple starters of smoked salmon or parma ham.
