I was given a bottle of your Chateaux Laures by friends who came to visit. I didn’t serve it with our meal as it wasn’t chilled. My wife and I shared it between us the following weekend and somewhat embarrassed as the quality of the supermarket wine we served that evening to our friends was far inferior and cost more!

I have paid a lot more for quality white wines but this wine from the Entre Deaux Mers beats many of the more well known brands for its refreshing quality.

As a red wine drinker I found The Chateau Laures very easy to drink. Fuller bodied than a lot of white wines but very nice indeed.

I don’t know if I should be so complementary about your Chateau Laures because like most when you find something this good for the price you like to keep it to myself – but good it is and a very pleasant drink on its own but even better with the right food like chicken, boiled bacon or white fish.

Nicely packaged for a wine of its price and it certainly hits way above its price range. A wine of quality is how I describe it and very easy to drink with or without food.

I was given a bottle of your Chateau Laures for my birthday. Thank goodness you placed your details on the bottle as I would have never have found you to order more. The silly thing is I can remember who gave it to me but I am very pleased they did!

Description & Press Reviews:
Wine Style:  Medium White

Chateau Laures comes from a 70 hectare estate which has been owned by the same family for many generations and is situated right in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers in the tiny ancient commune of
Gornac.  The Romans made wines here and the countryside is dotted with relics from bygone times. Benedictine monks nurtured the vines and there many 11th and 12th Romanesque Abbeys and Templar Chapels standing watch over the vineyards. Fortified windmills stand proud against the skyline and Gornac has four of these medieval towers still standing.

Château Laures
is a brilliant gold in colour with the aromas of mangoes and pineapples and and intense fruit and honey in the mouth. It's expressive and rich on the palate with a good snap to the acidity. Laures really is a lovely wine, is full of elegance and will be thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by white wine lovers.

When drunk as an aperitif it refreshes the palate and opens the appetite. Because of its structure Château Laures
will lend itself to a wide range of foods from salads and fish to chicken. It goes well with charcuterie, white meat and goats cheeses. It is perfect for fish and sea food. The freshness of the wine uplifts the iodide taste and softens the salt produced by the sea.

Clive Platman, The Birmingham Post, Food & Drink
A white-only AOC that can deliver a class, crisp and purely herbaceous style, with great concentration of flavour. This ticks the box.

Ned Halley, The Western Daily Press, Today's Tipple
The dry white wines of Bordeaux are much-loved by the French, but largely overshadowed by New World competition here. Nick has some fine examples, such as Chateau Laures 2006, made from the region's traditional blend of sauvignon blanc and semillon grapes, richly coloured with a floral perfume and fresh, slaking fruit. This is a fine, delicate wine to drink either as an aperitif or with grilled fish
.

Andrew Barrow, Spittoon
The Semillon really comes though on the nose giving a lovely herby touch to the lemon-citrus that dominates. Palate is nicely rich and full with a slight spritz and good acidity balancing it all out. A honeyed touch to the lemony complexity all melds together wonderfully.

Testimonials from customers:

"I was also pleasantly surprised by the Chateau Laures I tried recently. Not a style of wine I have drunk a lot of in recent years. But its got enough about it to stand up to some rich shellfish dishes and I agree it is lovely on its own too. Very good at the price."
