Amongst our mixed case we recently ordered was your Sauvignon Blanc which we found a delight to drink as were the other wines we ordered. We haven’t found a bad bottle yet!

I find this Sauvignon Blanc charming, easy drinking with or without food and a pleasure to sip at the price.

We simply keep coming back for more of this charming wine. I heartily recommend it.

Wonderful, simply wonderful is how I would describe your Montagnac range of wines. We love the reds as well as the whites and we find them excellent value for money without bad heads in the morning

When you look at your site and the wines you have to offer with their respective prices you can be forgiven after reading the bumph that goes along with the wines that they can’t be this good for the price. Well I think all the wines I have had from you have been great value for money and this Sauvignon Blanc is no exception. A very good example of a single grape wine that myself and my partner have thoroughly enjoyed drinking.

A very nice example of a simple Sauvignon Blanc you may be able to get cheaper but not at this quality. The fruit oozes through

Description & Press Reviews:
Wine Style:  Medium White

A terrific easy drinking wine made from a single grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc. Great for first time wine drinkers. It's made in the Languedoc which has been one of France's up and coming wine areas for a while now. Blessed with some fantastic terroirs and micro-climates this is one of the most southern parts of France, facing the Mediterranean and looking on to the Pyrennees. Montagnac Sauvignon Blanc is produced by a small co-operative dating back to the 1930s the vineyards stretch from the banks of Thau Lagoon to the foothills of the mountains on the right bank of the River Hérault.

Sauvignon Blanc makes the famous white wines of Bordeaux, Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre in the Loire Valley. Montagnac Sauvignon is a pale yellow gold, with an attractive light orange tinge. This wine is a real gem with aromas of honey, peach, apple, orange peel and smoke. It has flavours of zesty lemon, herbs, flint and spice, and a touch of caramel and crystallised fruit. Soft but certainly not creamy, with superb balance and a very decent length.

Montagnac Sauvignon Blanc can stand up to the spicier  Asian foods, Mexican dishes based on tomatillos, Japanese dishes such as sushi and sashimi and is great with barbequed spare ribs and both marinaded chicken drumsticks and pork chops.

Three Wines from France: The Montagnac Range

"Judging an independent wine merchant on its cheapest wines is a great indication of the overall care the merchant puts into its overall range. It is relatively easy to list great wines at the £10/£20/£30 price range but much harder to find something exclusive at under a fiver that is not one of the huge brands available from everywhere else. If consideration has been given to the most basic of wines you should trust the choices at higher prices too."

Montagnac Sauvignon Blanc, Vin de Pays d'Oc, France - Not a gooseberry in slight on this lemon-juice coloured wine. The palate is distinctly crisp with an element of smoke and flint. Soft, supple and easy to drink. Nice mineral-led finish. Alcohol 13%.
Scribblings Rating - 86/100 [3.25 out of 5]
