Fleur de Luze Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Classic Sauvignon Blanc.  Lively, zesty and refreshing with a long fruity aftertaste and a very clean citrus bouquet.  Flavours of lemon, pink grapefruit, lychee and mango with grassy notes of sweet hay and lime blossom.

100% Sauvignon Blanc.  12% abv.  75cl

A dry, refreshing and really fruity change to the New World Sauvignons I normally buy. Worth every penny. Give it a try.

This 100% Sauvignon Blanc knocks spots off many other wines I could mention for which you will have to pay more!

This is one of my favourite white wines off your list. I have enjoyed more glasses than I should admit to but I never been disappointed.

Fleur de Luze is made by the Negotiant House of Maison A. de Luze et Fils, founded by Baron Alfred de Luze, Grand Duke of Hessen.  In 1820 the Baron settled his wine merchants in Bordeaux at the heart of the business activity on the Quai des Chartrons facing the River Garonne.  Thanks to his far sightedness and foreign trade links he became one of the pioneers without whom Bordeaux wines would not have acquired such a reputation.  Nowadays Maison de Luze specialises in maturing and selling the great wines of Bordeaux and old Cognac eaux de vie worldwide. It owns vineyards, châteaux and several wine ranges, including Fleur de Luze.

Fleur de Luze is a clear, crystalline pale gold colour and
can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a seafood platter, Mediterranean prawns or grilled fish such as shad on a barbecue,  trout, or scampi. Fleur de Luze is terrific with appetizers such as Mezze, Tapas and Dim Sum.    It's also great with Thai cuisine and  cheese - try it with a fondue!  It's best served well-chilled at around 9°-10°C.

Lovely crisp, light personality alongside exciting depth of character.

Who ever makes scampi at home?  A dish one may assume is now relegated to certain "family" restaurants and frozen ready meals.  Of course the home-made version is leagues ahead of any ready-meal.

The inspiration for a little home deep-frying was a recommendation by Bordeaux Undiscovered in the press pack they supplied with a few samples. The match, Scampi with Tartare Sauce
and this Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc was sensational and highly recommended.

Wine Tasting Note Fresh, light, gently grassy, lemony and refreshing. Hints of lime, grapefruit, apple and just a smidge of orange.

And simply THE best match for scampi - or in my case deep-fried, breaded prawns. Even handling the spiky tartare sauce wth aplom. Not being as forcefull as, say,a New Zealand, Sauvignon or as minerally as one for the Loire this, relativey simple, Bordeaux blanc seemed perfectly matched.
