Champagne Morel Pere et Fils Brut Reserve is a fantastic gold medal winning Champagne that hails from Les Riceys in the heart of the Côte des Bars. It is made by expert blender Pascal Morel, who is the 5th generation of his family at the helm of this Champagne House. The House itself is an 18th century mansion (next to the church) that backs on to the River Laigne. The vault dates back to the 1600s and contains the reserve Champagnes – cuvées from his grandfather’s times and beyond.
Grower Champagnes such as Champagne Morel have been attracting much excitement across the globe recently and we are delighted to be able to offer this gorgeous Grower Champagne here at Bordeaux-Undiscovered. Unlike major brands (Mumm, Moet & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot etc) who buy intheir grapes, Grower Champagnes are made by independent producers who own their own vineyards, grow their own grapes and make their own champagne. Champagne Morel’s vineyards lie over 18 acres on the chalky limestone slopes of the Laigne valley.
Although perfect as an aperitif or a toast, Champagne Morel is also very versatile with food, pairing with salty and savoury appetizers, spicy curries, seafood, fish, poultry, cold cuts and salamis, creamy pastas and desserts.
