Product Description

Jean Baptiste Audy NegotiantsThis lovely Merlot is made by Jean Baptiste Audy, a wine making Negociant House founded in 1906, who specialise in Right Bank wines and Pomerol Merlot in particular.  Audy are owners of an exceptional portfolio of estates (including Chateau Bonalgue, Clos du Clocher in Pomerol and du Courlat in Saint Emilion).  Jean Baptiste Audy Merlot is a speciality of the House and is a cuvee overseen by Jean Baptiste Bourotte, the grandson of its founder.

The Merlot grape goes into some of the most sought after wines in the world – Petrus in Pomerol and Masseto in Italy.  Famous for its soft, fruit driven character, Merlot is a key ingredient in Bordeaux blends that create Claret.  Jean Baptiste Audy Merlot is a superb example of what this grape is capable of in the right hands.Audy Merlot and Food

Jean Baptiste Audy Merlot is great with food and would pair well with chicken, pigeon, guinea fowl, Mediterranean casseroles, mild cheeses and pork.

Good discovery of your from Audy. I had no idea they produced these wines. I know their Pomerol and St Emilion chateaux well – excellent producers. Well found!
