Chateau Ballan Larquette Bordeaux Rose 2014 / 2015 – Gold Medal

Bordeaux Rose. Satiny smooth, delicious and elegant with good refreshing acidity.  Sensuous flavours of dark red cherry and ripe strawberry lifted by mouthwatering notes of pink grapefruit, sweet hay and spice.  A sophisticated wine.

45% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc.  12.5 % abv.  75cl

BLRPS2With 6 generations of wine makers behind him Regis Chaigne is one of the top flight producers of Petit Chateaux. His small estate, Chateau Ballan Larquette, lies across a scattering of small hamlets near St Laurent du Bois. He combines centuries of traditional knowhow and respect for the land with cutting edge wine making to produce Claret, Rose, White and Clairet of extraordinary quality. Passionate, driven and consumed by his quest for excellence; Chaigne is one of our favourite winemakers and we are proud to have introduced his wines to the UK.

BLRPSBordeaux Rosé can be every bit as complex as the more famous reds, while seeming more subtle and restrained – and the Ballan Larquette Rosé  is no exception.

Ballan Larquette Rosé is perfect as an aperitif and is great with food – try it with warm salads, chicken, rabbit and cold meats (ham, salami, pastrami), shell fish and sushi, delicate Asian cuisine and chilled soups such as Gazpacho.
